Where It Begins.

Hi, I’m Vallery. Welcome to my Galley, the kitchen on a boat, where I share my passion as nutritionist, cook, creator of Wave Food, and storyteller inspired by nature, culture, and the sea.

I grew up between a small farm and the Baltic Sea coast, surrounded by family garden, farm animals, and the rhythm of planting, harvesting, and providing for our table.

Cooking on sailing boats changed everything. With limited space, no steady supply chain, and complete dependence on what I could find in small port towns, I learned to cook creatively, resourcefully, and always with questions: Who grew this? How did it get here? Was it fair? 

I met fishermen, farmers, and small producers who worked with their hands and cared deeply about their craft. I also witnessed the other side—supply chains built on exploitation and waste. That’s when I realized: the way we source food matters as much as how we cook it.

After years of cooking on wellness sailing trips and building relationships with conscious producers, I created Wave Food to share not just recipes, but a philosophy: food should be seasonal, transparent in its origins, and prepared in ways that honor the land, the sea and the people who cultivate it.
